Sports & Leisure
Sports and leisure are both a big part of my life, especially the leisure part :-) I'm both a Sports fan and a Sports man. My favorite sports to watch are the Olympics, Pro Football, Hockey and any extreme sports. My favorite teams are the Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, and Colorado Avalanche. I've never really had a favorite Basketball team, but since that is the only Pro franchise in Portland where I live now I guess you could say the Blazers are my favorite team. When I was a kid we used to go to the Dodgers spring training games in my hometown Vero Beach. When they moved and the Marlins came to Miami I became a Marlins fan, and later a Rangers, Rockies, and Mariners fan for all the places I lived. I rarely watch baseball on TV, but going to the game is a real American experience.
My favorite sports and activites to participate in are Mountaineering, Snowboarding, Skiing, Mountain Biking, Fishing, Skimboarding, Scuba Diving, Skateboarding, Rafting, Camping, Rock Climbing and many others. In my younger days I was all about skateboarding. My cousin Steve and I were even good enough to get sponsered by a local dive/surf shop in Vero Beach called Deep Six (Thanks for helping us out DS!) These days it really hurts to slam down on the concrete so I prefer to snowboard or skimboard when I have the chance, along with some of these other crazy sports. In the future I really want to give windsurfing, kiteboarding, cave exploring, and maybe even give skydiving a try.
Since I met Charlotte my radical attitude has rubbed off on her and she is now becoming quite an adventurer doing things like hiking 14ers, fishing, mountain biking, rock climbing, snowboarding, skiing and more. As for the scuba diving, well I'm still trying to talk her into that one.
This section is a collection of images and journals from some of our favorite adventures. For each of our favorite activites I will make a seperate subsection with links to individual adventures showing pictures and journals. If you get lost just click the back button or click on the sports page link at the top of the page to bring you back here.
One of my buddies Norm once said "If you don't get out of your comfort zone, then you're not really living life". I totally agree.
